The Hornets Need Help

A FOOLPROOF formula for beating the Hornets, it appears, is to stay home on their shooters when Chris Paul orchestrates a pick and roll. It’s becoming monotonous; first the Hawks, then the deprived Bobcats, next the Lakers, then the Rockets and finally, an inexcusable nine-point home loss to the less-than-all-the-Kings-men; no Kevin Martin for the sixth consecutive game – sprained ankle.

Looking defensively unflawed in the preseason and starting off the regular season 3-0, the Hornets have melded into mediocrity at 5-5, holding 5-8 Sacramento to 55 percent field goal shooting. Oh, yeah, Reggie Theus’ Kings were playing their third game in four nights and had lost to the Grizzlies by 15 at the Drop Box the night before.
