If things go sideways for the Hornets this season…would George Shinn even entertain this idea???

Charles Barkley believes it’s time for him to make the switch from television to the front office of an NBA team.
“It’s time for me to be a general manager,” Barkley told the Boston Globe. “I think everybody around me knows it’s time for me to take a different challenge.
“I always want to keep going as a person. I love my job. I love the people I work with. But now it’s time for me to take on another challenge as a man. I need to grow as a person and it’s time for me.

“And certainly I can do a better job than some of these guys have been doing.”
Barkley added that all he needs is an opportunity.
“If a good opportunity came up, I would take it,” he said. “I think people sometimes get confused with taking a job and taking a bad job. Every job is not a good job, but I think if a good job came up, I would take it. But I am not going to leave TNT for no bad job.”
I sure as hell hope not. Can you say Matt Millen?
agree with justin…def not
Charles should just stay as a commentator for now.
I think Charles would be a wonderful GM. Let me explain why. 1.) He’s VERY knowledgable of the game and players. 2.) His I don’t care attitude will give the players a wake up call, if you can’t play then you don’t belong here. & 3.) In spite of his off the camera issues, he’s a good guy and a hall of famer. That counts for something. Also he’s a gambler, so I think he’ll take chances on some guys that will really help this team to win.
I’m sorry, Jeff Bower is not doing a good job. Look at the players he’s brought in and their contribution to the team. After almost going to the western conference championship, and then coming abck and going down hill, proves he’s not as knowledgeable as we thought.
So I think it’s time to make a change and I think Charles would be great.
P.S. Plus he will also help sell tickets.
I’ll repeat this again. Can you say Matt Millen? To my knowledge Charles has never had any sort of an executive position with a sports franchise. It’s nice and easy when you can talk on TV about how things should be it’s a completely different ball game when you have to deliver results. Has Charles ever worked in a coaching capacity? Nope. Let’s not forget his self admitted gambling problem according to Wikipedia he admitted losing 2.5 million dollars in a 6 hour period!!! Is this a man you want in charge of your team’s destiny?
Yes Justin. I will trust him. By far, he’s better than what we have. Also please my friend don’t forget, his knowledge of the game. That alone is valueable.
But what about his run for Alabama governor?!
That is interesting about Charles Barkley running for Alabama governor.
