Saints Rookie Free Agent QB

For the second straight year the Saints have signed a quarterback after the draft

This year it’s Stanford’s T.C. Ostrander.
ESPN Overview: After redshirting his freshman year in 2003, Ostrander spent most of his first three seasons at Stanford relieving injured quarterbacks and threatening to take over the starting job permanently. As a senior, the tables were turned when he suffered an apparently non-football-related seizure and was forced to sit out the USC game. Tavita Pritchard took over as the team’s starter after upsetting the Trojans, but Ostrander found himself back in the lineup after Pritchard was injured. In eight games in 2007, he completed 130 of 229 pass attempts (56.8 percent) for 1,422 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. For his career, Ostrander played in 30 games, completing 51.2 percent of his passes for 3,783 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for a 110.7 passer rating. There is a lot to like about Ostrander’s live arm and intangibles but he’s a developmental prospect who needs to work on reading defenses and getting the ball out of his hand quicker. Additionally, his lack of prototypical height is a concern. Ostrander projects as a late-round pick or rookie free agent.

  1. That is good how the Saints drafted T.C. Ostrander. This is a good pick for the team.
