Goodbye JuJu!

I hate to say it….but I believe Julian Wright is finished playing basketball in New Orleans.

Because the Hornets are in win now mode…so if the team is going to land a player like Ben Gordon or another guy who’s proven and ready for a deep post season run it’ll cost the Hornets Wright.

If I were a rival general manager the first guy I’d ask for would be Wright.

Personally, I really like Julian, he’s been to our studios several times and I don’t want him to go. I think he’ll be much improved during his sophomore campaign and in years to come he could be a potential all star.

But think about it, Chris Paul, David West and Tyson Chandler are off limits. Peja is too injury prone and makes too much money to move.

The market for MoPete and Melvin Ely ain’t real strong.

Rasual Butler and Mike James are immovable because of their bad contracts.

Chris Andersen, Jannero Pargo, Ryan Bowen and Bonzi Wells are already unrestricted free agents.

So who’s left?  Julian Wright.  Maybe Hilton Armstrong.  To me Armstrong is an underachiever but a guy who is loved by teammates and coach Byron Scott.

So if the Hornets are going to have any chance at landing a 20 point a night scorer like Ben Gordon….it’ll probably cost them their top young player…..Julian “JuJu” Wright

  1. Why can’t you just cut players in the NBA like you can in MLB or NFL? If all James and Butler are are a couple bad contracts cut them let them find some other club. As far as all the unrestricted guys go they should sign anderson and pargo at a discount to what other clubs would pay and then trade one of them or a few to get artest.

  2. It will be sad to see Julian “JuJu” Wright leave the Hornets. But, the Hornets have to do what is best for the team, with regards to trades.
