Where’s Deuce?

I know all the Saints coaches and players are going to say it doesn’t matter which 11 players are on the field….they’ll say the reason that they have had so much trouble on short yardage is because they didn’t execute as a team.

That’s true, but why isn’t Deuce McAllister one of the eleven players on short yardage?

Pierre Thomas is 0-4 this season on crucial short yardage plays (three 3rd and 1’s and one 4th and one).

So when will Deuce play?

Why won’t coach Sean Payton at least make McAllister part of the game plan on short yardage plays?

Has Payton written Deuce off?

I say play Deuce!  Play him, cut him or trade him.

It’s painful to watch a guy who says he’s healthy and ready to go sit on the bench while guys who are totally unproven are given the ball in crunch time situations!

In my opinion the Saints are 1-2 instead of 3-0 because of bad decisions by Coach Sean Payton. It’s Payton’s job to put the right players in the right situations to make the team successful….so far in 2008…he has not done that!

  1. I agree: Let Deuce play!

  2. Deuce needs to be playing the offense is a lot better with him and Bush in there together. Also I have a problem with when the Saints need to get down field quick why don’t they have a speed formation. With Meachem, Henderson, and Bush in the game. All three of these are capable of taking to the house. Plus with the speed of Henderson and Meachem the safeyties would have to stay back.
The defense plain out sucks. Jason David is just taking up a spot. He can’t even hold a reciever and prevent him from catching a ball.
Payton new contract was given to early. One good season and a win over Tampa. Maybe Benson is hoping for failure so ticket sales will fall out and he will have an excuse to leave NewOrleans.

  3. I miss Deuce! He seems like glue that holds the team together. On another topic, when is someone going to say something about the penalties?! I know that we aren’t always “Saints” that don’t penalize the other team, but come one!! Why are we the only ones getting the penalties called? Even the announcers saw the facemask last night- and still, no call. Maybe it is because we had the fewest penalties last season…I think that is a big part of why we are losing. It almost seems as if we are being cheated! Think of all of the yardage we would get on holding calls alone! Just a thought…

  5. DEEEEUUUUCEEEEE!!! Pull the Trigger Payton!!

  6. LET DUCE PLAy BECAUSE DUCE IS ONE OF THE BEST BACKS IN THE LEAUGE BECAUSE A SHORT YARD DUCE COULD GAVE US THEM AT LEAST 3 TO 4 YARDS A GAME IN SHORTS YARDS AND WE KNOW HE’S BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS

  7. they seriously need to play him now. 1-2 currently and shockey now out 3-6 weeks, we need as much offense as we can get.

  8. What is with this macho attitude from Sean Payton? The Saints are not blowing anybody off the ball so why try it two weeks in a row. The Saints are a finesse team. So why not open up the offense on short yardish downs and make the defense play the whole field instead of looking at eight or nine in the box. And, where is Duce? If he is hurt, we are grown ups, tell us he is hurt. If not, there is no excuse for not playing him. Unless, the rumors are true that Payton and Deuce are beefing.

  9. I believe that it has been stated that Deuce is able to play but may need to be slowly moved back into play. Put him in, work him back into the game if necessary, he can decoy if necessary, but play him!! IF there is a problem, Payton needs get over whatever his problem is with Deuce. . .we need him, we need him now and we need him bad. As a season ticket holder, we resent his statements today. . .”the decision was made early in the week”. . .as to who was to play. We THOUGHT THIS WAS A PLAY BY PLAY GAME!! Deuce has been a leader to the Saints for years. Payton needs to realize and respect this and get him back on board NOW.

  10. Let Deuce Play! 🙂
