The New York Giants’ offense is struggling without Plaxico Burress, and veteran free agent wide receiver Joe Horn could be the guy they call on for help.
Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger reports that the Giants have invited Horn in for a visit, and he will take a physical today. If he passes the physical, he could sign a contract with the team and be on the active roster this week.
At his best, Horn was among the league’s elite receivers. He had four different seasons of more than 1,200 yards with the Saints. However, his production has declined in recent years, and in Atlanta last season he caught just 27 passes for 243 yards.
The 36-year-old Horn was released by the Falcons in August and has been out of football since then.
