Liberty running back Rashad Jennings is scheduled to visit the New Orleans Saints this week, according to Scout.com.jennings

Jenning has conducted private workouts with the New York Jets, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cincinnati Bengals and the Eagles have reportedly displayed a lot of interest in Jennings.

The 6′1,” 231-pound runner ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds at his campus Pro Day workout, and bench pressed 225 pounds 29 times at the NFL Scouting Combine. He posted a 29-inch vertical leap.

He rushed for 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns last season.

Jennings transferred from the University of Pittsburgh to be closer to his father, who is battling diabetes.

As a freshman at Pittsburgh, Jennings rushed for 411 yards and one touchdown.

In four seasons, the Division I-AA All-American selection rushed for 4,052 career yards and 43 touchdowns.

Strengths:
Excellent size and bulk…Good athleticism…Plays pretty fast for a big guy…Strong and powerful…Decent vision and instincts…Runs hard and is difficult to bring down…Very patient…Good hands…Does a real nice job as a blocker…Excels in short yardage situations and down on the goaline…Offers some versatility…Durable…Was super productive.

Weaknesses:
Did most of his damage against a lower level of competition…Not real quick or explosive…Doesn’t have great feet…Won’t make people miss…Will have trouble turning the corner at the next level…Isn’t much of a big play threat…Conditioning has been a problem in the past…Has some  issues with ball security…Might be a  bit of a ‘tweener.

Notes:
Originally signed with Pittsburgh but had some academic problems in high school and wasn’t in great shape so he used the year off as a non-qualifier to shed 30 pounds and get his grades in order…Enrolled at Pitt in 2005 and played extensively as a true freshman, finishing the year as the Panthers second leading rusher…Transferred to Liberty so he could be closer to his family and sick father…Brother, Bryan, played tight end at Virginia Tech and in the NFL…Another brother, Butch, played running back at Virginia Military Institute and later Liberty…Sat out the first two games of the 2007 season due to an NCAA rule violation…Named a 1st Team Division I-AA All-American as a senior…Was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior…1st Team All-Big South three years in a row (’06, ’07 & ’08)…Also being looked at as a potential fullback…Major talent with an intriguing set of measurables who was essentially a big fish in a small pond…One of the  top small-school prospects available this year.
